1900s Dubonnet Grand Prix Match Striker, Creamy Green (Pyrogene)
Color: creamy green
Oh match strikers. How I love thee. Such a great way to add detail and style to any shelf or table. This ceramic French bistro striker (also known as a pyrogene) is a liqueur advertisement for Dubonnet, Vin au Quinquina – Grand Prix 1900. These were given to restaurants and bistros as advertisement materials in the early 1900s. I just picture a smokey dark bistro on a rainy Paris evening when I look at this beaut. Grab it before I change my mind and keep it for myself. I’ve seen these listed for as much as $350.
This piece has significant striker ware but is in excellent overall structural condition with many years ahead of it. The soot marks can be cleaned.
